Family and Extended School Services
The purpose of our Family Service is to support families and promote the well-being of our pupils by encouraging social activities. It also provides a network of assistance and advice for parents and carers. We provide a varied programme of activities from coffee mornings, trips out, swimming sessions to holiday and after-school clubs.
Hedgewood School is part of our local community and we recognise our duty to promote community cohesion. To further this, we make our school facilities available, whenever possible, to our community.
Community use of school currently includes:
- Cheer Leading Group
- Drama Club
- Cooking Club
- Art Club
- Sports Club
It is always a lively summer for the Happy Hedgehogs Holiday Club team, catering to nearly 40 children and visiting a wide variety of places, including Woburn Zoo and Black Park.
This year, the demand for after-school clubs has continued to rise, with parent feedback has been wonderfully positive. Children now have the option of attending a variety of clubs, enabling them to further extend their social and communication skills. Many children have welcomed the chance for additional interaction with children from other classes.
Weekend Play Buddies has been a huge success with all places currently full. There is a waiting list for those interested in signing up for a place when one becomes available. Children love the facilities at the Thames Valley Adventure Playground (a regular visit for Weekend Play Buddies), with siblings and parents enjoying the opportunity to take part in these visits.
Saturday Study Club runs each Saturday in the school term. Children experience a range of practical educational experiences to enrich their learning and further their academic progress.
For further information about these clubs please contact our Extended School Manager, Tara Shiki on 0208 8456756 or email@example.com
