We are Hedgewood School

At Hedgewood School we have the privilege of enabling children to reach their full potential by exploring what might be possible; meeting them at their stage of learning and designing their curriculum around the individual child.

Be nice. Work hard. Be happy.

Our school ethos is ‘be nice, work hard, be happy’. We aim to provide opportunities and support so that our pupils develop a good work ethic, inner confidence together with interpersonal and social skills.

Welcome

At Hedgewood School we have the privilege of enabling children to reach their full potential by exploring what might be possible; meeting them at their stage of learning. Our curriculum is about giving each child the best opportunity to succeed; to achieve the highest quality of life. Everything we do is personalised to achieve this overarching aim. We pride ourselves on creating a fun and engaging learning environment where the children feel safe, happy and ready to learn.

We are a special school for children with Autism and & learning difficulties. Children at the school have difficulties with communication and sensory processing and therefore we work closely with Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to both minimise barriers to learning and extend their skills.

Children are at the heart of what we do. We hope that you will find all the information that you need on the website and that gives you a good feel for the life and work of the school. If you would like to visit we would be happy to show you how amazing the children and staff are.
